Food Allergens Training FOR FOOD RELATED BUSINESSES
Food Labelling Legislation
From the 13th of December 2014, new European legislation called the Food Information for Consumers (FIC) Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 came into force to change the way allergen information appears on labels of food that is prepacked or not pre-packed.
These new EU regulations cover everything from prepacked food, and food sold loose, which includes:restaurants, pubs, takeaways, contract caterers, canteens, healthcare facilities, cafes, crèches, meals provided or delivered by charitable organisations, food stalls (mobile and stationary) as well as businesses offering delivery services.
This course focuses on the new EU Food Allergen Regulations in great detail. It covers the 14 listed allergenic ingredients used in the production or preparation of food, how it applies to your business and what action you need to take to comply with the regulation.
